The life and times of an
ORDINARY Missionary

My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the
name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church
has already been started by someone else. I have been following
the plan spoken of in the Scriptures, where it says,“Those who have
never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard
 of him will understand.”

Romans 15:20,21

21 Days of Dangerous Prayers

We started our 21 Days of Dangerous Prayers challenge on Sunday, August 6.

"Here I am."

This was the response of Moses when God called him out from the burning bush.

A divine moment of surrender.

I can recount two significant times of reluctantly saying, "Here I am!"

One, was when I was called to the ministry 25 years ago.  I was young, naive and unsure of myself, but I said, "Here I am!"  I didn't even know the power of those words, but they proved to be permission for the Lord to send me on a great adventure, much like He did Moses when he uttered those words.

Second, was in 2014 when I was frustrated in ministry.  We had been faithfully ministering in our mobile home communities and I was frustrated that no one recognized what we were doing and we weren't getting any support (please don't make this same mistake I did.)

Very clearly, I can remember the Lord impressing on my heart, "Mike, I did not call them.  I called you.  Is your ALL on the table.

And at that moment, I remember saying, "Here I am."

Since then, I cannot believe the adventure He has had me on.  I had no idea what these three words would unlock.  It was simply blind obedience.

I doubt if Moses knew the trajectory of his life after uttering those words.  I know I didn't.  If I could encourage you, especially if you are living a ho-hum Christianity, allow the Lord to examine your heart, soul, and mind.  After reflection and prayer, simply utter those three life-changing words and see what the Lord does.

Mike
